Before founding Synapse Software, Brian Parks spent three years as a Senior Software Engineer at Cherwell Software from 2017 to 2020. His experience building the platform gave him firsthand knowledge of the systems organizations depend on to manage their IT services.

As ITSM platforms evolved and organizations began facing uncertainty about the future of their software, Brian recognized a growing challenge. Businesses had accumulated years of valuable service-management data, but moving to a new platform often meant finding a way to preserve that history without maintaining the original system indefinitely.

Cortex Archive began as a way to help organizations retain access to their Cherwell data. Rather than requiring complex migrations or ongoing dependence on aging infrastructure, it provided a more practical way to preserve and search historical information.

Over time, that original solution evolved into a broader archival platform supporting organizations as their technology needs change.

Today, Synapse Software continues to build on the same principle that inspired Cortex Archive: your data should outlast the software that created it.
